KAREN GOLDMAN ZIMMERMANN, JD
“It is my goal to get my clients through the process of divorce in a manner that is most conducive to their emotional and financial health and minimize the trauma of the process on their family.”
Karen Goldman Zimmermann focuses exclusively on family law. Such matters include divorce, both traditional and collaborative, paternity, custody, support and property division issues. Her practice is limited to Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Waukesha and Washington Counties. She is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and Milwaukee, Ozaukee, and Washington Bar Associations.
Karen Zimmermann received her J.D. degree from Marquette University in May of 1982 and has been practicing family law ever since. As a seasoned leader in her field, she is a past officer and current member of the Southeastern Chapter of the Collaborative Family Law Council of Wisconsin, Inc., in which she has been involved since its inception. She understands the complexities of divorce and family law and is committed to promoting the practice of collaborative divorce when appropriate. Proper training and a thorough understanding and commitment to the collaborative process, she believes, is essential to its success. Her reputation, integrity and willingness to mentor others have inspired many to become involved in the collaborative divorce movement in southern Wisconsin.
Karen is an experienced mediator, arbitrator and Guardian ad Litem (an attorney for the children) with many years of training and experience as a mediator and Guardian ad litem. Children are her passion on all levels. Hers is a “kid friendly” office and children are the priority in any matter. She has presented at numerous seminars and events relating to family law in her 25+ years of practice, and extensively mentors new graduates.
